Jan 29: United for Peace and Justice sponsored a Lobby Day on Capitol Hill. 1500 people representing 47 states visited 270 members of Congress. The New York delegation packed into Sen Schumer's office and met with the Chiefs of staff for Senators Schumer and Clinton. Children hold up shoes and toy soldiers with names of Iraqi children and US soldiers who have been killed in Iraq. The symbols were presented to the Senate aides. |
