Alice Kerney, center, and Patricia Boskent, right, made their dream of a clinic in the Lower Ninth a reality. The two nurses worked together at Charity Hospital, which remains closed. After the storm they met up and planned the clinic. They partnered with Common Ground and the clinic was launched on August 28 on St. Claude Ave.
The clinic's doctor poses with medical supplies.
Patricia Boskent and Daniel Williams, clinic founders.
Everywhere, women are hugging.
Men too.

Lunch included chicken, cornbread and red beans and rice. Common Ground volunteers serve.
One thing there is no shortage of in New Orleans is brass bands. This one played at the clinic opening event.
