Billie Jane (Graffious) Detwiler, 92, formerly of Altoona, died early Friday morning at the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home after a brief illness. She was born in Riddlesburg, daughter of the late William and Viola (Gordon) Graffious.

On June 18, 1948, she married Dick H. Detwiler at Bell Avenue Baptist Church, Altoona. He preceded her in death on November 11, 2018.

Surviving are four children: Craig Detwiler (Michelle) of Californina, Dale Detwiler (Carrie) of Hagerstown, Md., Lori A. Benning (Mike) of North Carolina, and Larry A. Detwiler (Kelly) of Altoona; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends.

Billie was predeceased by a grandson, Josh.

Ms. Detwiler was a life member of The Church of Latter-day Saints of Jesus Christ, Altoona Ward.

She graduated in 1948 from Altoona High School.

Billie was a very active member of her church. She enjoyed reading and, in particular, enjoyed spending time with her family.

Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at Myers-Somers Funeral Home Inc., 501 Sixth Ave., Altoona; and 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at The Church of Latter-day Saints of Jesus Christ, 778 Brush Mountain Road, Hollidaysburg, where the 11 a.m. funeral will be held with Bishop Bruce Erb presiding. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Hollidaysburg Veterans Home, 500 Municipal Drive, Duncansville, PA 16635; or at Altoona Area High School Fine Arts Music Boosters, PO Box 150, Altoona, PA 16603.
