COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – A fine art exhibit was held on November 12 in conjunction with the Chattahoochee Valley Boys and Girls Clubs and the Columbus Museum.
The competition was part of the Boys and Girls Clubs of America National Fine Art Exhibition, which promotes creativity, artistic skills and cultural enrichment in young people.
At the exhibit, 27 winners were announced receiving a certificate of merit from the members of the Women’s Giving Circle Committee, Ms. Carter Schondelmayer and Ms. Melissa Thomas.
The winners were selected from over 115 works of art created by members of the five Boys and Girls clubs of Columbus.
Local winners will represent BGCCV in the Southeastern Regional Competition in Spring 2015. Regionally selected works will be sent to BGCA headquarters in Atlanta for national judging.
There will be 37 national winners named with their works showcased at special events throughout the year.
Winning artists will receive engraved plaques and letters of congratulation from BGCA President and CEO Jim Clark. Regional finalists will receive a certificate of participation.
