The 2022 Blue Cross Broad Street Run will take place May 1 from North Philadelphia to South Philadelphia on Broad Street. For more than 40 years, this event has been a Philadelphia tradition. More than 27,500 runners take part in this event each year. The event is more of a festival than a race. Here you will know when, where and how to watch the event.
When will the 2022 Blue Cross Street Race take place?
The event will begin at 8 a.m. ET on Sunday, May 1. Runners are divided into seven “waves” based on their expected finish times.
Routes and Routes:
The race begins on Broad Street and Fisher Avenue in North Philadelphia and ends at the PIDC Lot on Pattison Avenue in West Broad Street. The 10-mile route passes through Fisher Street, Hunting Park, Tioga Street, Cumberland Street, Oxford Street, Spring Garden, South Penn Square (between 15th and Broad), Washington Avenue, Jackson Street and Geary Street, as well as City Hall, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Temple University, Avenue of the Arts and the Philadelphia Stadium complex.
How to watch Blue Cross Broad Street Run on TV and online in 2022?
NBC 10 has the rights to broadcast the Broad Street Run live on its channel. The event will begin on Broad Street and West Fisher Avenue in North Philadelphia and end at the NovaCare Complex on Pattison Avenue in South Philadelphia. So, if you want to watch the event on your TV, you’ll need to contact your cable provider for that. If you don’t have a cable TV connection, you can stream the Blue Cross Broad Street Race live on the NBC Sports website.

Street opening time:
Roads will be reopened after street sweepers clear the race course.
According to the City of Philadelphia, streets are expected to reopen by noon, except for areas near the finish line and post-race activities.
How many runners will participate in the Broad Street Run 2022?
According to the City of Philadelphia, thousands of runners have registered for the event, but only runners who have submitted proof of vaccinations can run in person. All other registrants can complete the race virtually.
About 27,500 people are expected to race in person and 900 are expected to race virtually.
