IBI Group, a Canadian-based company, has expanded its presence in the US market with the acquisition of US architecture firm RLC Architects.

RLC complements IBI’s existing industrial engineering and architecture businesses, cements its presence in the United States and contributes to the company’s long-term growth strategy. The acquisition demonstrates IBI’s commitment to growth while supporting an ongoing commitment to sustainability, given RLC’s leadership in “green design” in South Florida.

Founded in 1990, RLC specializes in the planning and design of award-winning buildings and communities in South Florida. The firm’s work has received numerous awards from industry associations, including the 2019 Palm Beach Merit Award from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) for the design of the Boca Ice and Fine Arts Center and mixed-use community Briny.

Seven of RLC’s recently completed projects have achieved LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification and more than 50% of its professional staff have LEED accreditation. RLC’s focus on sustainable design and customer-centric solutions will combine with IBI’s focus on improving urban livability and taking action against climate change.
