College runners stay the course – Knox County VillageSoup

The Busline League college cross-country campaign, literally and figuratively, has been underway since mid-September and will run until the Championship meeting on Thursday 20 October in Belfast.

The league has scheduled 10 regular season games, two per week from Thursday, September 15 to October 13.

The league championships will take place on Thursday October 20 at Troy Howard Middle School in Belfast, with the girls’ race at 3.45pm and the boys’ race at 4.30pm.

League schools with cross country programs include Great Salt Bay of Damariscotta, Oceanside of Thomaston, Boothbay Region, Islesboro, Medomak of Waldoboro, Wiscasset, North Haven, Camden-Rockport, Searsport, Lincolnville, Searsport, St. George , Appleton , Drinkwater School of Northport and Troy Howard.

During competitions, young runners generally cover a course of 2.1 miles.
