Kathleen J. Goodwin (Brandow), 65, a loving mother and grandmother, died Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at AHN Hospital in Grove City, Pennsylvania, after fighting a courageous battle with Covid.
Mrs. Goodwin, originally from Jamestown, who currently resided in Stoneboro, Pennsylvania, was born March 30, 1956, the daughter of the late Wilford and Helen Nelson Brandow.
She graduated in 1974 from Southwestern Central School. Ms. Goodwin then graduated from the State University of New York at Fredonia in 1978 with a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts. Her love of art, of expressing emotions through her creativity, shone through in everything she did. She often joked that she should have been a councilor instead, and to those who knew and loved her, she was. She was the true embodiment of love, mercy, compassion and infinite wisdom.
Ms. Goodwin was employed by NT Concepts-Innovative National Security Solutions in Grove City, Pennsylvania from 2014 to 2015 as a Data Modeler. She has also been employed by USIS, US Investigation Services (2006-14) as a HazMat/TWIC enroller, The Connection as a call center representative, Kwik Kopy Printing (1985-2005) as a graphic designer and was also used for some time. through the Post-Journal.
She loved art and creating jewelry; traveling with her companion, Thomas Gilliland, across the United States; spending time with her children and grandchildren and shopping.
Three children survive: Katie (Peter) Badura of Lockport, Steven (Chelsea) Goodwin of Kennedy, and Kellie (James Crum) Goodwin of Jamestown; five grandchildren: Leilah and Madison Badura of Lockport, Waylin and Hunter Goodwin of Kennedy and Jacob Crum of Jamestown; her siblings: Douglas Brandow, Charles (Dorscella) Brandow and Timothy (Debbie) Brandow and Georgiann (David) Pangborn, and Kathy’s companion of nearly nineteen years, Thomas Gilliland, with whom she has taken up residence. She also leaves to mourn several nieces and nephews, whom she loved very much.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a younger sister, Susan Brandow. She was also predeceased by her ex-husband, Clifford Goodwin, to whom she was married for 20 years.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Lind Funeral Home, where friends will be received from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday. Masks will be mandatory during visitations and funerals, regardless of vaccination status.
His burial will be at Sunset Hill Cemetery.
