“I am honored that my works are on display in my hometown, and I owe a special thank you to Amanda Grandy for leading this project,” said Erickson.

Anchored by the name “Niceville” in bold yellow letters, the design is surrounded by a water background with illustrations left to right depicting a historical timeline. From the establishment in 1868 of the Postal Service in Boggy Bayou, a graphic history unfolds, telling a story of community and growth over the years.

“The intention of this mural was to show the history of our community while continuing to add to its landscape. Trying to capture the spirit of Niceville, a concept that is clearly represented by the mural as the focal point of our city “Janae’s design does exactly that, the mural she created was perfection! She embodies many important historical details of Niceville and will be placed in the center of town for everyone to enjoy,” said Grandy, Coordinator of the mural project.

Future plans for installing the mural are to be announced.
