Revamped ‘Cinderella’ Final Performances Staged | News, Sports, Jobs


WHEELING – The Oglebay Institute’s new take on ‘Cinderella’ will return to the stage for final performances this weekend at the Towngate Theater in Wheeling.

The shows will take place at 7 p.m. today, Friday, February 4, and at 3 p.m. on Saturday, February 5.

Written by Lynn Stevens, this reimagined version of “Cinderella” brings a fresh take on one of the world’s most famous fairy tales. Oglebay Institute director of performing arts Tim Thompson says Towngate’s show includes all of the favorite characters – such as the good-natured Cinderella, the wicked stepmother and the handsome prince, plus tiaras , swords, magic spells and royal splendor to capture attention. little ones. However, it also introduces the audience to the backstories of the characters and situations portrayed in the play. Thompson said the inclusion of the human side of the story engages children in a very special way.

Towngate Art Director Dave Henderson is leading the production. Cast includes Grace Mull, Kelsey Ohler, Lillian Gadd, Grace Thompson, Erin Bond, Noah Hilton, Alex Fabrizio, Wayne McCord, Lisa Haworth, Josie Figaretti, Lauren Brannan, Claire McFaddin and Emma Thompson.

Children 13 and under will be admitted at a special price. Members of the Oglebay Institute receive a discount.
