University of Texas to start offering Taylor Swift songwriting class


Taylor Swift has accomplished so much in her career and changed the world of music, so it’s no surprise that the University of Texas at Austin thought it appropriate to dedicate an entire course to her music.

University students will be able to study the “Taylor Swift Songbook” course from October.

According Sky Newsthe “Taylor Swift Songbook” will be studied alongside other literary giants such as Shakespeare and the poet Coleridge.

According to the website, the course “uses the songwriting of pop music icon Taylor Swift to introduce methods of literary critical reading and research – basic skills for working in English literature and other disciplines of the humanities”.

It will also focus on “Swift’s music and the cultural contexts in which she and her career are situated.”

The course “will examine frameworks for understanding his work, such as poetic form, style, and history among various issues and theoretical issues important to contextualization as we practice careful and in-depth reading, evaluate secondary sources, and construct strong arguments”.

In May, Swift received an honorary doctorate of fine arts from New York University.

During her acceptance speech, she explained that she had never received “college” experience.

“I never had a normal college experience per se. I went to public high school until 10th grade, then I finished my education doing homework on the floors of airport terminals,” she said.

New album

Over the weekend, Taylor Swift announced that her new album will be released in October.

“I thought it would be a fun time to announce that my brand new album will be released on October 21st,” she said as she accepted the ‘Video of the Year’ award at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday. .
